  • Yes. Through our vast network in the ilm community, we will search for projects that are aligned with your interest areas.

  • Yes, if you chose to have your name in the credits.  The specific credit will be negotiated between you and filmmakers.

  • Yes, but the filmmakers have final cut.

  • Yes. Our goal is to bring in new funders to the space, and educate them on the process.

  • We don’t list funders’ information in our materials, without their permission.

  • Donating to a documentary allows you to be a part of a creative community that genuinely cares about making real change in our world. Plus, you’ll get invitations to screenings, talks, and events around the films you support.  And,  your financial contribution brings light  to important topics that align with your mission.

FAQ FOR FILMMAKERS

  • Currently, we are not accepting submissions.

  • No. while we will be putting it in front of potential funders, there is no guarantee for funding.

  • The Funder submits their tax deductible donation to our fiscal sponsor, who then sends you the funds minus their admin fee of 2%. Once you receive the funds, you send the DocList 8% of the total funds for our matchmaking services.

  • No, but we would like our logo in your credits.

  • Funders may offer creative input, but the filmmaker has final cut.

  • Yes.

  • The DocList charges 8% of the dollar amount the funder gives to support the film.

  • We seek out film projects at various stages of the process, from development to release, and make selections based on multiple criteria including: clarity of artistic vision, solid filmmaking team, budget that aligns with project, potential for distribution, ambitious social impact strategy, and ethical filmmaking standards. The projects must at least have a deck, sizzle and access to the subject secured. The deck and sizzle are important tools to engage potential funders.
